Task 3: The Exchange

Your situation

You are helping to organise a professional development event for approximately 60 participants.

The event will include presentations, workshops, refreshments and lunch.

You would like to hold the event on Thursday 12 November from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

Call the venue and gather the information you need.

Your objectives

  1. Find out whether the venue is available on your preferred date.
  2. Ask whether there is a room large enough for 60 participants.
  3. Find out if two additional breakout rooms are available for workshops.
  4. Ask what presentation equipment is included.
  5. Find out whether Wi-Fi is available for participants.
  6. Ask about lunch and refreshments, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
  7. Find out about accessibility and the total cost of the event.

Decision

At the end of the call, decide:

Would you recommend this venue for your event? Why or why not?
