Open the speaking bot. This is an imaginary future. You can be curious, surprised or sceptical!
2. Discover five things
Ask questions to find out about:
- Work: What do people do, and what do machines do?
- Free time: How do people spend their days?
- Everyday life: How do people get homes, food and other things they need?
- A problem solved: What major problem has society overcome, and how?
- A surprise: What has happened that people in 2026 did not expect?
If you need to, make brief notes to help you remember.
3. Keep the conversation going
Ask follow-up questions rather than moving straight to the next topic.
- Can you give me an example?
- How does that work?
- How did that happen?
- Does everyone benefit?
- Really? Tell me more!
- What do you mean by …?
Elio may sometimes use slang from the future. If you hear an unfamiliar expression, ask:
“What does that mean in the English of 2026?”

After the conversation, write five things you discovered in the comments below.
Start with:

Use a mixture of these forms:
- People will …
- People will no longer …
- People will be spending their time …
- By 2046, society will have …
- By then, … will have changed.
Finish with your opinion:
