a television programme where people score points by answering questions or doing things:
a game show host (= a person who introduces the programme and asks the questions)
Work in pairs and discuss the questions.

- What type of games shows do you like? (Quizzes, puzzles, physical challenges?)
- What do the contestants have to do in different game shows?
